My name is Rachel Stafford and I am a fully qualified counsellor and member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). Acknowledging that we are struggling can often be a very daunting, overwhelming and a scary place to find ourselves in. I am very mindful that the fact you are reading this now, means you have taken that first step to seek help from a counsellor.
Knowing you are not alone and having the chance to talk to someone who is trained to listen, without judgment, can be profoundly helpful. Talking about our emotions and how we truly feel can often bring such clarity to our lives and a real awareness of self, to help us sow the seeds of change. I’m here to provide just that with my counselling based in Bedfordshire.
Asking for help is not always easy, especially when you are struggling with something that no one else knows about or may not understand. Get in touch today for a chat about how I can help you, by calling 07724 844 033 or by sending me an email at email@example.com.
I invite you to sit down with me, be it faced to face or online. Together, we can explore what is concerning you and, hopefully, make better sense of your experiences and feelings.
These feelings of unease, sadness, anxiety or emotional distress may well have been heightened since the pandemic and other uncertain world events. We’ll work through them together. My job is, hopefully, to help facilitate change. Your job is simply to turn up and use the sessions in whichever way you feel most comfortable.
I adopt a humanistic approach and this means we’d explore together what you want to change and find a way forward that feels manageable for you. Through working with me in this way, you will hopefully begin to develop and change. My training and experience has taught me that this change occurs because all of us have within ourselves the capacity to heal, to grow and to create a more satisfying life.
Much of my work is helping people re-discover and mobilise these inner resources that seem to be ‘lost’, or that have become distorted or mistrusted, through experiences in their life. If you break a bone you get help and have it mended - there is no reason not to do the same if circumstances or events have upset you so much that your head feels like it's about to burst and your quality of life is impaired.
Our sessions can take place in whatever way would make you feel most comfortable:
The ultimate goal with my counselling services, based in Bedfordshire, is to provide you with a professional, compassionate and confidential service. I can hopefully help you to fully explore your experiences and difficulties so you can make better sense of things. This will hopefully enable you to reach your goals so that you may live a happier and more fulfilled life.
If you’re looking to maintain or improve your physical fitness, you might go for a run or join a gym. Counselling works in exactly the same way for the mind, helping you to work through pain and trauma, while growing stronger and more secure in yourself.
Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes and include an initial consultation. If we find our working alliance isn’t a match, I will signpost you in the right direction. We all go through struggles in life and often feel totally overwhelmed.
You’re not alone in feeling that way, so let’s talk about it.
With over 20 years spent working in high-pressure corporate environments, I personally know the value of taking stock of where you are, both mentally and emotionally. In environments such as colleges, universities, businesses and corporations, there can be little room for stress and little room for focus on one’s mental health. I want to change that, so hard workers can know when they need to step back, recuperate and ensure they’re looking after themselves.
Get in touch and let’s find a workshop that can help your organisation.
If you’re ready to talk (or even if you don’t think you’re ready), contact me today and let’s find out how my counselling services can help you. I’m available Face to Face, virtually via my private online counselling room, through Zoom, Teams, Google Meet or by phone. Call me on 07724 844 033 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
